Job DescriptionSummary of Job Purpose

The Base Area Attendants are a key component to enhancing our guests experience at Dodge Ridge. Often, the Base Area Service Attendant is the first person our guests meet upon their arrival to Dodge Ridge.

Preparing and maintaining our base facility for our guests are the primary focuses of the Base Area Attendants, this includes; setting up the parking lot, efficiently and safely directing guest to parking locations, daily maintenance of the restroom facilities, trash removal, maintenance and cleaning of the buildings and grounds, and snow removal.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate an on-going commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This involves interacting with guests in a courteous manner, and being able to answer questions professionally.
  2. Parking – The Base Area Attendants (B.A.A.) are the front line of employees for Dodge Ridge. They are the first employees the guest will encounter when they arrive. B.A.A. will need to have a complete knowledge of the ski resort and all of the services that we have to offer. They will need to be able to control the flow of traffic entering and exiting the resort in a safe and orderly manner, while parking the guests in a timely manner in sometimes adverse conditions.
  3. Maintenance – B.A.A will be responsible for maintaining all the restrooms in the base area in a clean and safe manner; by cleaning sinks, floors, toilets and trash receptacles. Maintenance also involves emptying and maintaining trash and recycle bins, cleaning tables and other cleaning duties as required. B.A.A. will be asked to do litter removal on a regular basis.
  4. Snow Removal – B.A.A. will be responsible for shoveling snow from stairs, walkways, roofs, and decks, either by using a shovel or operating a snowblower. Snow removal duties may also involve moving outdoor furniture, spreading salt and placing slip and fall signs.
  5. Housekeeping – Empty garbage and recycle cans as required during the day, monitor heavy usage areas on a regular basis, and coordinate with other staff assigned to garbage. Clean cans as required during rounds, transport garbage to the cramalot and recycle bin and dispose of safely. Ensure that all cans are left empty by the end of the shift. Housekeeping is a key component to enhancing our guests' experience at Dodge Ridge. Having a clean and inviting facility is a high priority. Be a contributing housekeeping team member, helping to ensure restrooms and all other public areas are clean, orderly and ready for guests.
  6. Lock up and hand over – Un-chuck doors in Family Lodge and Creekside, lock locker rooms at 5pm, meet with contract cleaners between 5pm and 5:30pm and transfer any specific cleaning requirements to them from the previous night or day as directed by the Facilities Manager.

Job Qualifications

  • Complete the Base Area Service Attendants Training Program and understand the customer service policy of Dodge Ridge.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Be in good physical condition, as this position requires standing outside for long periods of time in inclement weather.
  • Ability to accurately follow directions
  • Ability to shovel heavy loads of snow.
  • Be aware of the ski area services, terrain and facilities.
  • Be well groomed and present a good public image.
  • Possess the ability to read, speak, and to write English legibly.
  • Be punctual, honest, trustworthy and possess good judgment
  • Must posses a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program.

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.
