Essential Functions
• Will give oversight to the day-to-day operations of the aquatic’s programs and facilities in conjunction with Aquatics Manager. • Perform water rescues according to established site-specific procedures; provides First Aid/CPR, and acts as a first responder in emergency situations as needed. Complete all supplemental paperwork and record keeping. • Maintain clear communication with staff, volunteers, members/guests, in both written and verbal formats. • Follow and enforce equipment checkout procedure. • Report all facility and equipment defects to Aquatic Supervisors • Maintain the professional lifeguard attitude and approach to problem solving. • Conduct hourly chemical readings for all pools, report readings on appropriate sheet and to Aquatic’s manager. • Ensure all pools are covered and Aquatic center is adequately secured at close of day. • Administer swim tests to members/guests as directed. • Perform all maintenance duties as directed by Aquatics Manager. Including but not limited too; deck cleaning, locker room checks and common areas, equipment, etc. • Ensure that injuries, accidents, and incidents are reported immediately to Aquatics Manager along with a copy of the correct reports. • Must wear Kroc Center approved apparel as assigned by management. • Maintain a safe working environment; report all potential PTM problems to Aquatics Manager. • Attend all staff trainings as assigned. • Must have ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and split shifts (depending on season). Working Conditions

Being a swim instructor, you will be provided the training to teach swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3-months old, following the British Swim School aquatics program that is gentle, fun, and progressive. You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by manager(s) and interact with swimmers, and parents and/or guardians. Your Typical Responsibilities:

<li>Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).</li>
<li>Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.</li>
<li>Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm), weekends (8am- 1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.</li>
<li>Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.</li>

Minimum Qualifications:

<li>Enthusiastic personality.</li>
<li>Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!</li>
<li>Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.</li>
<li>Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.</li>

Preferred Qualifications:

JOBSUMMARY:
To guard and protect the patrons that use the Forest Home aquatic facilities. To maintain cleanliness and safety of all aquatics facilities and to provide excellent customer service in order to create a fun, welcoming Christ-centered environment.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Perform lifeguard duties at the pool facility</li>
<li>Reaches and maintains a level of physical fitness that meets the American Red Cross standard for lifeguards (see below) </li>
<li>Supports and upholds Recreation safety plans and procedures</li>
<li>Assures equipment is inspected and maintained</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Provide excellent and Christ like service to guests and fellow staff</li>
<li>Performs other duties asassigned. (Lifeguards may have the opportunity to train and work in other parts of Forest Homes recreation dept which include Ziplines, Climbing Wall, Hikes, light buildings &amp; grounds maintenance and other camp work.) </li>

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

<li>Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, &amp; AED certification, or be willing and psychically able to be certified. The American red cross pre training swim test consists of the following:</li>
<li>300-yard continuous swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.</li>
<li>Tread water for 2 minutes without stopping</li>
<li>Swim 20 yards then dive to retrieve a submerged 10-pound object. Swim another 20 yards carrying the 10-pund object back to the starting point ( Please do not apply for lifeguard if you cannot physically preform this test. <li>Working towards High School diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>Prior lifeguard experience preferred but not required. Forest Home will provide a American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR AED &amp; First Aid training and certification. </li>
<li>Preferred experience in job or ministry that requires guest interaction and service with people of all ages.</li>
