General Position Summary

Essential Job Functions
Research and Development Activities

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Department/Section Supervisor or Laboratory Manager, Chemistry Technician will be responsible for the following:

<li>Routine testing of client supplied samples in accordance with standard operating procedures. </li>

<li>Troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instruments. </li>

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Preform Sample login and splitting</li>
<li>Assist chemists in performing analysis using one or more of the following techniques: HPLC, GC, LCMS, GCMS, GC, ICP/MS, ICP-OES, UV-VIS, FTIR, Titration, Gravimetric Analysis, or other techniques, as appropriate in a timely fashion maintaining a high level of quality.</li>
<li>Prepare analytical standards.</li>
<li>Perform daily balance, temperature and monthly pipette verification.</li>
<li>Perform sample processing in accordance with standard operating procedures.</li>
<li>Perform sample preparation.</li>
<li>Calibrate and maintain analytical instruments.</li>
<li>Prepare standards and maintain inventory</li>
<li>Purchase of standards and solvents</li>
<li>Maintain analytical and quality records as required for accreditation/certification and related to analytical work and instrument maintenance.</li>
<li>Submit accurate and timely reports based on the analysis.</li>
<li>Identify results that require further investigation or discussion with the Department Manager/Supervisor.</li>
<li>Participate in OOS investigation and/or CAPA when necessary.</li>
<li>Learn new techniques and technologies as appropriate.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

<li>Minimum high school diploma and/or associate degree in science, BA/BS degree preferred. </li>
