Position Overview:
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is seeking a Manager, Vegetation Management Strategic Sourcing to lead strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier governance for its Vegetation Management portfolio across all business lines. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that drive performance, cost savings, sustainability, and supplier diversity while overseeing significant contract spend. The position includes building and supervising a high-performing team and implementing process improvements and standardization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for the Vegetation Management portfolio.

Lead category management, supplier governance, and cost optimization initiatives.

Oversee contracts and purchase orders ranging from $500K to $10M.

Build, mentor, and supervise Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders, and Sourcing Specialists.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure sourcing aligns with operational and capital project needs.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement standardized processes.

Lead complex cross-functional teams in strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations.

Monitor supplier performance and enforce service level agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum 8 years of sourcing or related industry experience.

Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and cross-functional team management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or advanced degree.

Strategic sourcing and project management experience.

Utility industry experience, including vegetation management near powerlines/poles.

SAP/SRM proficiency.
Salary Range: $140,000 – $208,000 (Bay Area) | Midpoint: $174,000
Reports to: Senior Director, Construction Services Strategic Sourcing
About the Department:
The Procurement organization at PG&E manages over $12B in annual spend, providing sourcing, strategic procurement, supplier relationship management, compliance, and field support services. This role contributes directly to optimizing value for PG&E while maintaining high standards of governance and operational excellence.
Work Model: Hybrid (remote office and Oakland, CA, based on business needs).
