Overview:
We are seeking a warm, organized, and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our oncology clinic team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors and plays a vital part in creating a supportive and compassionate environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a welcoming and compassionate manner.
- Answer phone calls, route messages, and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments, ensuring accuracy in the system.
- Verify insurance information, collect co-pays, and process patient check-ins/check-outs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Support clinic operations by preparing forms, updating patient records, and coordinating with medical staff.
- Monitor the waiting area to ensure a calm and supportive environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, and mail handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical office training preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office, oncology, or specialty clinic highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
