Irrigation Service Technician
Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Irrigation Service Technician to handle all aspects of irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair. This role combines hands-on technical work with light supervision of helpers and direct customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain complete irrigation systems: controllers, valves, heads, rotors, drip systems, 2-wire systems
- Perform pressure testing, trenching, pipe pulling, and wiring
- Read irrigation plans and lay out job sites
- Operate specialized equipment: trenchers, pullers, GPS locators, tampers
- Manage material ordering and job scheduling
- Interface professionally with customers, subcontractors, and architects
- Complete job paperwork, change orders, and cost reports
- Train and supervise irrigation helpers as needed
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- 2+ years irrigation service experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) - oral and written
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and handle physical demands
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Clean background check and employment eligibility documentation
Technical Skills:
- Experience with all irrigation system components and installation
- Ability to read irrigation plans and drawings
- Equipment operation and basic maintenance
- GPS locator system proficiency
- CRM software experience (or ability to learn)
- Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) certification (Preferred)
