Job DescriptionSalary: $110,000-$145,000
We are currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer for a full-time position. We are looking for a team oriented, quality minded, and motivated candidate. In this role, the Commissioning Engineer will assist in managing and executing building commissioning, retro-commissioning, and submittal review tasks on a large variety of commercial building projects.
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Management and at least 3- 5 years in a commissioning role. Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS). Automated Logic and/or Distech controls is a plus. We will consider candidates from the controls and/or test & balance industry that have a good over-all understanding of MEP systems and design. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate success in the following skills and abilities:
- Communicate and coordinate with RSACx team, owners, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, building officials, etc.
- Provide detailed review of submittals, plans, and specs.
- Prepare/review commissioning specifications.
- Prepare/review/complete checklists and other commissioning/review documents.
- Perform on-site surveys.
- Provide on-site start-up witness of HVAC, control, electrical, plumbing, and lighting control systems.
- Perform onsite Functional Performance Testing (FPT).
- Review balance reports and manufacturer or contractors start-up reports.
- Identify issues with MEP design.
- Generate comprehensive punch lists, commissioning plans/reports and documentation.
- Troubleshooting of HVAC, controls, electrical and plumbing systems
Job Requirements
- Experience & Education
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design, construction, and start-up/commissioning of HVAC, controls, electrical, plumbing, and lighting control systems for commercial buildings.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license, AABC, or AGC CxA certification is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge
- Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS); experience with Automated Logic and/or Distech controls is a plus.
- Solid understanding of building energy codes and energy standards.
- Familiarity with Title 24, green building design practices, and/or LEED standards.
- Working knowledge of commissioning processes, including ASHRAE, ACG, and LEED commissioning requirements.
- Broad technical exposure to HVAC, BMS and controls systems, electrical systems, plumbing, fire alarm/life safety systems, lighting controls, and test and balance procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
