Position Overview

Location: Anaheim, CA (Onsite)

The Engineering Project Assistant is responsible for planning, scheduling, and assisting engineers with administrative, documentation, process and general engineering related support activities. Must demonstrate the ability to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative and computer skills to assist engineering projects. Acts as an expert tool for engineering. Ability to coordinate and lead activities as well as strong organization and analytical skills. Performs project non-technical duties, assignments typically include but not limited to document creation/edit, data entry, report generation, requirement capture, milestones and financial metric.


What You’ll Do

  • Orders, ships and tracks program materials.
  • Edits, formats of required documentation.
  • Interfaces with technicians, engineers and engineering managers to create/ edit documentation.
  • Assists in tracking action items, and engineering tasks utilizing engineering tools.
  • Supports on engineering approval and releases via change management tool.
  • Supports the Bid & Proposal process, assisting in bid narratives, bid reviews, and follows up with bidding engineers to meet deadlines.
  • Obtains or provides information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature.
  • Requires judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Perform as primary focal point, coordinating, tracking and reporting status for inquiries and problem resolution during the pre-release, release, and revision of development/product related documentation.
  • Provides tools expertise and support to Engineering.
  • Supports development of engineering standard work.
  • Collects metrics and prepares presentation materials for analysis.
  • Assists in tracking action items, and tasks in the change management tools.
  • Normally receives little instruction on routine work, general instructions on new projects or assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • Assist in communication with offshore teams and processing change orders.

Who You Are

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with a wide variety of technical and management personnel.
  • Possess extensive PC tool knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects and complex engineering support activities while balancing priorities and schedules.
  • Strong communication and project coordination skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
