Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Mechanic with strong experience in repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment, specifically CAT skid steers and excavators. This role also requires the ability to service and troubleshoot a variety of smaller machinery and tools used on-site, including DR Power Wagons, water pumps, chainsaws, chippers, and other specialty equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain CAT skid steers and excavators
• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction and landscaping equipment
• Maintain a regular preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Maintain accurate service records and logs
• Ensure tools and equipment are kept in safe and working condition
• Order and manage parts and inventory as needed
• Occasionally assist in field repairs or emergency job site troubleshooting

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a heavy equipment mechanic, with strong knowledge of CAT machinery
• Skilled in diagnostics and repair of both diesel and small gas-powered engines
• Proficiency in reading service manuals, diagrams, and technical instructions
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied outdoor conditions
