The position is mostly remote schedule but you must have a willingness and ability to travel to San Francisco for hybrid work as needed. Annual Base Salary is between $150k - $215k depending on experience. If you need a little bit more $ let me know and we can talk about it they might be able to flex for the right candidate. Must meet 90% of the below requirements to be considered:

  • Apologies, this client isn’t able to offer Visa or other kind of sponsorship at this time.

  • Ideally candidate will be from the greater SF, CA Bay Area. The hiring manager is based in Texas (CST hours) and needs someone on the ground in SF

  • Mostly remote schedule but must have a willingness and ability to travel into San Francisco office for hybrid work as needed for business needs

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup culture environment

  • Must be able to pass a background check for onboarding

  • Must have 10/10 English communication skills

  • 5–8 years in information retrieval or related backend software development and data engineering

  • ~1+ years of hands-on experience as an AI Engineer using AI-centric tools or workflows

  • 1–2 years hands-on experience with AI-centric tools or workflows (e.g., LangChain, Crew AI)

  • 4+ years architecting search platforms using Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene

  • Production experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma)

  • Hands-on experience with knowledge graphs (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune)

  • 5+ years of experience with Python (main language); Java or Scala is a plus

  • Experience designing and implementing intelligent memory systems for AI agents

  • Experience in data cleaning, deduplication, and real-time data pipelines

  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL) and NoSQL query patterns

  • Experience with microservices architecture, building and integrating distributed services

  • Experience with asynchronous programming for concurrency and scalability

  • Experience architecting and optimizing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines

  • Experience with LLM APIs and advanced prompt engineering

  • Experience with system architecture and making technology decisions collaboratively

  • Personality: Kind, friendly, pleasant. Proactive, self-motivated. Someone who doesn't need to be micro-managed. Adaptable to new technologies.

Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $215,000.00 per year
