Job DescriptionAppleOne has partnered with a longstanding and stable company in Huntington Beach needing an Engineering Manager with 5 or more years of engineering management experience. Key Responsibilities: -Lead and manage engineering projects, creating detailed plans to achieve departmental and organizational goals. -Recruit, mentor, assign, and evaluate engineering staff, fostering a high-performance team culture. -Establish and implement best practices, tools, and processes for engineering excellence. -Provide technical expertise and guidance to engineering teams, leadership, and customers. -Collaborate with executive leadership to develop engineering strategies that support company growth. -Direct, review, and approve product designs, modifications, and technical documentation. -Maintain strong relationships with internal departments, clients, and external partners. -Negotiate and manage research contracts, bids, budgets, and vendor agreements. -Define scientific and technical objectives in alignment with company strategy. -Consult with clients to scope projects and allocate resources effectively. -Prepare and deliver technical reports, white papers, and presentations. -Partner with the sales team and support customers with application expertise, system setup, and training (some domestic and occasional international travel required). -Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes – oversees engineering department staff. Qualifications & Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, Industrial, or related field). -5 to 10 years of engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities. -Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. -Proven project management experience with ability to deliver on time and within budget. -Excellent oral and written communication skills. -Hands-on technical knowledge with ability to review and guide engineering work. -Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities. -Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. -Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Preferred Skills: -Experience in developing and scaling engineering processes. -Prior involvement with contract negotiations and vendor management. -Customer-facing experience, including field support and technical training.
