A forward-thinking city in Ventura County is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead high-impact capital infrastructure projects—with a focus on water and wastewater systems. This is a hybrid leadership role, requiring approximately 75% on-site presence to provide hands-on oversight and team leadership. Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
- Direct planning, design, and execution of water/wastewater and public works capital projects
- Lead, mentor, and manage engineering staff to ensure accountability and performance
- Represent the City in public forums including City Council, Planning, and Traffic Commissions
- Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to streamline project delivery
- Promote sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement in engineering operations
Engineering Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE license preferred
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, ideally within a public agency setting
- Proven leadership in managing complex infrastructure and capital improvement programs
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, asset management, and water/wastewater systems
- Comfortable being on-site approximately 75% of the time to lead operations and engage stakeholders
Engineering Manager Compensation:
- Base salary range: $141,000 – $212,000, depending on experience and qualifications
- Performance-based annual increases, plus raise after 6-month review
