Architecture & Engineering Interns - Summer Internship Program
Job Description
Job Description
Architecture & Engineering Interns – Summer 2026 Internship Program
Flexible | Paid | Hands‑On Experience in the AEC Industry
Curious how buildings actually come together - from first idea to real places that serve communities?
This summer, TETER is launching our Summer Internship Program, and we're intentionally keeping it flexible, student‑focused, and experience‑driven. We're looking for motivated college students who want real exposure to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry - not just busywork.
Whether you're studying Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Structural Engineering, we want to hear from you.
What Makes This Internship Different
This is a pilot year, and that's a good thing. We're building a program that can adapt to:
- Different interests across architecture and engineering
- Different levels of experience
- Different academic schedules
- Different TETER office locations
Our goal is simple: great experience for interns, meaningful contributions for our teams.
Program Highlights
- Flexible schedule – Full‑time or part‑time options available
- Flexible duration – Approximately 6–12 weeks, based on availability and team needs
- Multiple disciplines – Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Structural Engineering
- Real project experience – Work alongside architects and engineers on active building design projects
- Mentorship – Learn directly from AEC professionals who remember being in your shoes
- Paid internship – $19-21 per hour
- In‑office experience in different TETER offices – Learn how a professional AEC firm actually operates day‑to‑day
Final details will be tailored to each intern and business unit - we care more about finding the right people than forcing a one‑size‑fits‑all structure.
What You'll Learn
No matter your discipline, interns will be exposed to:
- How the AEC industry works and how A+E collaboration works
- The building design process, from early concepts through construction
- How real project teams communicate, coordinate, and solve problems
- Professional workplace skills - collaboration, feedback, and time management
In addition to project work, interns will participate in:
- An introduction to the AEC industry
- Exposure to different disciplines beyond your own
- Informal learning opportunities, team meetings, and mentorship conversations
Who Should Apply
We're looking for students who are:
- Currently enrolled in an architecture or engineering degree program (see list of disciplines above)
- Curious, motivated, and eager to learn
- Interested in building design and the built environment
- Comfortable asking questions and working as part of a team
You do not need to have everything figured out - this internship is about learning and exploration.
How Interns Are Assigned
We are accepting applicants from all disciplines listed above. Interns will be matched to architecture or engineering teams based on:
- Your background and interests
- Business unit needs
- Availability of mentors and project opportunities
Why TETER
TETER is an employee‑owned architecture and engineering firm dedicated to Building A Better Valley®. We design schools, healthcare facilities, higher education spaces, and industrial and commercial buildings, giving interns exposure to both public‑ and private‑sector projects.
As an intern, you won't just observe - you'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team doing meaningful work.
Applications are being reviewed as they are received. Early interest is encouraged.
