Responsibilities

As a Hospice Cook, You will:     

  • Prepare and cook patient meals, including special diets, in a sanitary and safe manner
  • Cook food in proper quantities based on the daily menu and patient census
  • Check and log temperatures for food and refrigerated equipment to ensure safety and compliance
  • Serve as first position on the serving line during meal service
  • Stock and store food items properly upon delivery
  • Follow cleaning schedules to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Adhere to all facility and departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and family information
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and team members


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • 3 years of cooking in a Health Care, Institutional or Restaurant Food Service
