Job Title: Hydraulics Field Service Engineer (Industrial)
Location: Supporting clients primarily in Los Angeles and primarily within California
Salary Range: $95K - $120K
Travel: Up to 75%(primarily within California and West Coast)
Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering both scheduled and on-demand field service, warranty support, and system start-up assistance to customers worldwide. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving issues with hydraulic equipment and systems, including both legacy and new equipment, as well as select third-party systems. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction, while also identifying and promoting upgrade opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites (primarily in the Pacific Time Zone) to perform service on hydraulic and electrical equipment - hydraulic pumps, valves, and systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, coordinating with internal teams to implement effective solutions.
- Operate computer-based diagnostic tools for hydraulic and electronic systems.
- Create detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Interpret and troubleshoot hydraulic schematics and basic electrical drawings.
- Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Conduct or support customer training sessions.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Identify and recommend system upgrades or improvements.
- Provide technical feedback to engineering teams to support continuous improvement.
- Support operations at company facilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Associate's degree in a related technical field.
- 3+ years of mechanical/hydraulics experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of industrial hydraulic machinery/systems
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and basic electrical diagrams.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex hydraulic systems, including hydraulic pumps, valves, and systems - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel up to 75% / Must be able to drive and fly to customer locations
- Background in Fluid Power Technology (Preferred)
- Familiarity with industrial hydraulic systems used in applications such as presses and extrusion (Preferred)
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment
