Position Overview
The Chemical Processing Technician plays a vital role in the production and processing of chemical materials. This position is responsible for overseeing various chemical processes, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards, and maintaining high-quality production outputs. The technician will work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize procedures and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical processing activities including chemical etching and milling.
- Handle and manage hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in compliance with safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain CNC and manual machinery used in chemical processing.
- Implement surface treatment techniques such as grit blasting and alkaline cleaning.
- Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO90001 standards.
- Perform swab etch and flash etch processes as needed.
- Utilize Chem-Brite solutions for effective chemical treatment of titanium and other materials.
- Assist in the development and optimization of chemical processing protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in chemical technology or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in chemical processing, particularly with titanium materials.
- Knowledge of chemical handling and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with HAZMAT protocols and safety practices.
- Experience with CNC and manual machining operations.
- Proficiency in surface treatment processes, including grit blasting and alkaline cleaning.
- Certification in AS9100 and ISO90001 standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
