Job description
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Overhaul and install new equipment.
- Complete work orders as assigned.
- Perform equipment changeovers and production line set-ups.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating changeover.
- Responsible for repair, maintenance of all plant machinery
- Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Comply with Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) when working on equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex control systems consisting of PLCs, VFDs, servos, HMIs, instrumentation devices and communication networks.
- Diagnose source(s) of trouble in operating equipment, and perform proper repair/replacement procedures.
- Properly perform LOTO procedures in isolating and de-energizing equipment and systems that are to be worked on, identify and eliminate or report unsafe conditions in the Plant, and perform all tasks in a safety conscious manner.
- Assist Operator in the operation of equipment when problems arise.
- Upgrade skills and knowledge of Plant systems, equipment, and components as directed or required.
SKILLS:
- Must be able to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
- Must have some Programmable Logic Control (P.L.C.) knowledge.
- Must be able to troubleshoot electrical, 24 volt, 120 volt, and 480 volt.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, to work in confined areas, to lift 50 lbs.
- Team player, willing to assist other mechanics in their areas to accomplish the task.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
