Amphenol PCD is seeking a Design Engineer to serve as the primary mechanical engineering support for our In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) business unit. This role is responsible for supporting new technology and product development initiatives, as well as sustaining engineering activities for existing products. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams and have frequent interaction with customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Essential Functions

Lead mechanical design of new product concepts from initial development through qualification and transfer to production

Support sustaining engineering activities, including product improvements and issue resolution

Collaborate closely with Electrical and Firmware Engineering teams to conduct design trade-off studies and ensure system-level integration

Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications

Participate in design reviews and support customer technical discussions as required

Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, regulatory, and manufacturability requirements
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related engineering role

Experience with CAD and PLM systems

Experience designing packaged electronics

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail

Organized, methodical approach to engineering tasks
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing methods

Experience supporting or participating in FAA qualification testing

Background or exposure to Industrial Design concepts

Pay Transparency (California)
In compliance with California law, the salary range for this position is $100,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement benefits, paid time off, and holidays.
