Are you an experienced Project Geologist looking to take the next step into technical leadership while still getting your boots on the ground?
An established and fast-growing environmental consulting firm is seeking a Project Geologist to support and lead complex environmental projects across California and the Western U.S. This is a dynamic opportunity to join a highly respected, multidisciplinary team working on high-impact remediation, investigation, and regulatory compliance projects across the private and public sectors.
🔍 What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and coordinating field investigations including soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion assessments.
- Managing drilling programs, well installations, and remediation systems.
- Overseeing junior staff in the field and contributing to their technical development.
- Developing work plans, managing field data collection, and interpreting findings to guide site strategy.
- Writing high-quality technical reports, including hydrogeologic evaluations, fate and transport modeling, and remediation recommendations.
- Supporting project budgeting, scheduling, and client communications to ensure timely, effective delivery.
- Engaging with regulatory standards such as US EPA, DTSC, and RWQCB protocols.
- Supporting business development and acting as a technical mentor within the project team.
✅ Key Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience, including field investigation and remediation.
- Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s (preferred) in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- GIT or EIT required; PG or PE strongly preferred (or must be obtained within 18 months).
- Valid 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across California.
