Assistant Golf Professional – Maderas Golf Course
Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in managing golf operations at the club. This role involves delivering excellent customer service, assisting with golf lessons, managing the pro shop, and coordinating events such as tournaments and leagues. The Assistant Golf Professional helps ensure a high-quality experience for members and guests while maintaining smooth operations on the course and in the clubhouse. This position requires a strong knowledge of golf, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to promoting the game of golf.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in administering all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing.
- Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course
- Produce daily reports.
- Plan, organize, and lead practice sessions.
- Reconcile daily tee sheets, perform check-in, and receive payments from members and guests.
- Resolve discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or under payment.
- Track all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
- Promote all club golf activities.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists retail buyers with procurement and merchandise and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
- Prepare for all golf outings including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets and hole assignments.
- Assist with associate training.
- Remain current on changes in rules, coaching philosophies and techniques, and technology relevant to particular sport.
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
- Drive and maneuver golf carts safely
- Maintain satisfactory attendance.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current PGA/LGPA Membership or past level 2 in PGA program.2+ years’ experience of up-scale golf facility.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport.
- Ability to work with student athletes.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.
- Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to transverse various athletic grounds and facilities.
Environment/Noise:
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- May involve exposure to varying weather conditions
- Typically sits at a desk or workstation.
- Climate controlled.
- Noise level is moderate.
