Summary:

The Grower Relations representative provides assistance to a complex assortment of situations that include, but are not limited to, product quality, food safety, short and long-term supply forecasting, grower satisfaction, grower account reconciliation, new grower recruitment, and overall organization advocacy. The FSR assists in carrying out the directives set forth by the GSM.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide organizational assistance for harvesting operations and labor contractors
  • Assist in assuring that labor contractors are meeting all governmental and HGOF requirements
  • Create quality and supply forecast updates under direction of the GSM
  • Provide assistance in implementing HGOF’s Food Safety Program with growers and contractors and resolve unsafe situations
  • Assist in relationship building with existing growers on behalf of the company under direction of the RGSM. Provide customer service that exceeds their expectations
  • Assist in recruitment or development of new grower candidates
  • Quality control of field operations and assistance in other quality assurance needs within the company under the direction of the RGSM.
  • Escort customer field representatives to grower sites and provide consultation or information as appropriate.

  • Basic knowledge of crops and varietals currently represented by HGOF
  • Demonstrated interest in advancing knowledge and understanding of issues related to sustainable agriculture
  • Ability to communicate well with others
  • Ability to clearly represent food safety issues to growers
  • Demonstrated capability with Microsoft Office application software (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner, with a minimum amount of supervision
  • 2-5 years produce industry experience, preferably involving extensive grower and product contact
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the needs of the business
  • Ability to present oneself with professional appearance and behavior in accordance to Employee Handbook Policies
