Position Description

As a Marine Technician, you will be a vital member of our field operations team, ensuring the readiness and reliability of GARC vessels deployed in fleet operations. Your role will involve direct technical engagement, maintenance, and support, alongside contributions to training and integration events. This position requires travel and the ability to work in industrial, austere, and on-water environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise:

Serve as a technical expert for mechanical systems on board GARC vessels, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

  • Maintenance & Repairs:

Perform service and maintenance on all mechanical systems, addressing issues promptly to maintain mission readiness.

  • System Troubleshooting:

Maintain a systematic approach to identifying symptoms, determining exact issues, and moving to correct these issues in a way that is able to be documented and repeated.

  • Documentation Support:

Provide input to service and maintenance documentation, contributing to accurate and effective materials for Navy and government use.

  • Training & Integration:

Support training, integration, and RDTE (Research, Development, Test & Evaluation) events, working directly with Navy personnel and other stakeholders.

  • Field Operations:

Perform work in industrial and austere environments, including Naval facilities, event locations, and potentially on water during operations or training.

  • Customer Collaboration:

Work first-hand with Navy personnel to train and eventually transition GARC platform responsibilities to government teams.

Technical Skills & Education

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems maintenance, repair, or field support.
  • Experience with maritime or autonomous platforms is a strong plus.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation and reporting standards for government or military applications.
  • Ability to perform in high-tempo environments, balancing multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with Navy personnel and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GARC platforms or similar unmanned maritime systems.
  • Familiarity with Navy operational processes and fleet maintenance.
  • Experience working in industrial or austere environments, including Naval facilities or maritime settings.
  • Willingness to travel for training, integration, and operational support events.
