We currently have a role available for aExperienced Pharma Biochemist at our South San Francisco site.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support Bio-Analysis sample preparation, design and perform mass-spec analysis as well as data analysis/interpretation from in-vivo studies from triple-quad mass spectrometers (Sciex 7500).
- Experience operating, maintaining Sciex 7500 Qtrap, triple-quad mass spectrometers, or Orbitrap instruments is required.
- Must be able to work independently to design and execute experiments, and has a track record of conceiving creative solutions in the lab to answer complex questions.
- Must be proficient in troubleshooting mass spec and LC systems from common vendors.
- Experience with cell culture, PK, and Bio-Analysis of ADC drugs from complex matrices (plasma, tissue).
- Characterization of recombinant proteins, antibodies, and ADCs using intact-MS and peptide mapping for routine QC using high-res mass spec platforms (Oribtrap).
- Must have a minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on laboratory experience working with mass spectrometry focused approaches in a discovery setting to support drug development.
- Extensive hands-on experience operating and maintaining LCMS instrumentation as well as SEC/HIC or U/HPLC systems, and proficient in the software used for data analysis (Protein Metrics, Skyline, Biopharma Finder) is required.
- Experience in analytical characterization using SEC/HIC, U/HPLC, cIEF, CE, as well as experience running nano-LCMS instruments for proteomics is desirable.
- Work closely with a team of scientists to support the development, optimization, and execution of analytical assays for protein characterization and bioanalysis to guide large molecule therapeutic design.
- Experience with high throughput plate-based assays working on both large and small molecules is beneficial.
- Collaborate with the team to meet timelines and deliverables.
- The successful candidates demonstrates a "can-do" attitude and brings innovative ideas to challenging projects to contribute to a collaborative and cross-functional organization
- Perform general lab maintenance and instrument calibrations.
- Must be experienced with molecular biology, analytical techniques, and general lab practices, and presenting and interpreting complex datasets in Excel and Prism.
- Maintain a high level of productivity in a laboratory setting, this role is 100% on site in South San Francisco and is lab based, but will have opportunities to represent data with project teams.
- Experience with analyzing and reporting analytical data, presenting data to colleagues and collaborators, and being a subject area expert in mass spec and analytical approaches is highly advantageous.
- Experience with R for data visualization is advantageous.
Job requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Minimum of a BSc with 8 years industry experience or MSc with 5 years industry experience in a mass spec focused lab on antibodies/ADCs/ proteomics or a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline focused on mass spec and ADCs.
