Job Description

BC2 Environmental is a California-based company specializing in environmental and geotechnical drilling. We offer a broad range of drilling services, including soil sampling, groundwater and vapor well installation, direct push sampling and groundwater monitoring. BC2 possesses the capabilities to handle complex site investigations and remediation projects, including those requiring hollow stem auguring, sonic drilling, direct push sampling, air and mud rotary drilling, air vacuum excavation, and water well development.

Position Summary: The ideal candidate will have some background in geology or environmental science, and a desire to become a project manager. The role will initially involve assisting the existing project managers while learning the various elements needed to be effective as a stand-alone project manager. The role will involve learning about bidding projects, scheduling, basics of geotechnical and environmental drilling, jobsite safety and the overall company safety program, and more.

Responsibilities (initially assisting project managers, and eventually working independently):

Coordinate and respond to solicitations - scoping, estimating, and quoting
Gather all of the documentation required for large proposals
Communicate to clients and potential clients
Assist with scheduling equipment and personnel
Help with project load sheets, and ensuring crew is prepared and trucks properly loaded
Site walks, site safety inspections, on-scene progress reports, unscheduled deliveries
Selection of subcontractors, ordering rental equipment and material
Coordinating with payroll for any prevailing wage and union projects
Collecting daily reports and logs, preparing/reviewing invoices

Requirements:

Have interest in drilling, environmental remediation, or geotechnical sampling.
Be able to communicate and relate well with people.
Be well versed in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Have a college degree, some experience in project management a plus.
Be able to organize well, breaking large projects into smaller tasks, with strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
