Job Description

DropletPharma is building two microscale devices that will accelerate radiopharmaceutical discovery and production, transforming health outcomes worldwide. We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Technician to join our growing team in Los Angeles. In this role you’ll be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining the mechanical, pneumatic, and fluidic subsystems of our flagship systems – and for supporting the transition from prototype to production.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering team in building test fixtures, prototypes, and preproduction parts.
  • Set up and operate CNC mill machining equipment to produce parts with tight tolerances
  • Assist in moving products from development to preproduction and full production.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, and R&D scientists to integrate subsystems into the final product.
  • Develop tooling and assembly processes that can be scaled to production.
  • Fabricate wire harnesses, assemble PCBs/PCBAs, and perform basic electrical testing (continuity, resistance, functional checks).
  • Ensure all electromechanical systems meet engineering requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and rework nonconforming hardware; document root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain up to date design records, operation manuals, and SOPs for prototype and production systems.
  • Provide technical support during bench scale production runs.

Requirements

  • High school/GED with 5+ years in manufacturing, mechanical/electrical builds or equipment testing or Associates or Trade school certification with 2+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong hands-on skills in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and part and assembly drawings.
  • 2+ years of machining experience (CNC mill, lathe, manual tools).
  • Experience with FDM/SLA 3D printing and other rapid prototype techniques.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience harness/assembly/testing PCBs, PCBAs or similar electronic components; ability to fabricate wire harnesses and electromechanical systems that meet quality & engineering requirements.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience that would be great, but not required:

  • GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Wet lab experience
  • Fluidics or microfluidics experience

What We’ll Observe During the Interview:

  • Walkthrough of a technical challenge you solved, from hypothesis to validation.
  • Share how you stay current with new tools, materials, or manufacturing techniques.

Benefits

This position is a regular, full-time position, with an hourly rate of $35-50/hour, depending on your experience and education.

In addition to salary, we offer the following benefits to all full-time employees:

  • Covered health and dental insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • Flexible paid time off (expectation of 3 weeks) for full-time employees

Important Notes

  • We are unable to sponsor visas; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • While the role is based in Los Angeles, we welcome applicants from anywhere in the U.S. who can commute or relocate.
