Job Summary:

Certerra A3GEO is seeking a full-time Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our Berkeley, California team. Actual compensation will be set based on your knowledge and experience coupled with your ability to provide satisfactory documentation demonstrating requisite skills in writing, engineering, and interpersonal communications. Duties:

  • Conduct onsite construction observation and testing services including nuclear gauge field density testing, concrete sampling, earthwork operations, and foundation installations.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Perform laboratory testing.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct geotechnical field investigations.
  • Prepare boring logs.
  • Prepare written reports.
  • Working directly with and managing sub-consultants.
  • Work responsibly, safely and in a manner that reflects well upon the firm.

Education/Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline (geology, construction management, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Engineer-In Training (EIT)
  • Working towards obtaining professional license
