We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer - 11 month contract role.
Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm
Duties:
- The quality Engineer is responsible for diagnosing quality problems and recommending solutions and preventative measures.
- Diagnoses product problems, in the plant.
- Develops testing methodologies and equipment including precision computerized measuring devices and statistical control techniques.
- Analyses results and recommends solutions to complex product and process quality problems.
- Works with engineering and manufacturing staffs, equipment manufacturers and vendors to develop solutions and implement preventative measures.
- Certifies manufacturing processes using quality assurance tools.
- Drive adequacy and conformance of processes and procedures through the internal audit process and the corrective action process.
- Provides training and guidance to improve the inspection and statistical process control skills of the quality control inspectors and production personnel.
- Plans/schedules and performs internal audit and leads corrective action activities for all process and system findings.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a BS degree and 3+ years of experience
- Manufacturing experience
- MS Office Suite - Excel
- Experience in low-cost, high-volume, low-defect manufacturing
- Working knowledge of injection molded plastic components
- Working knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE, and other quality improvement tools
- Basic knowledge of Industrial Engineering (line balanced, ergonomics, safety)
- Ability to perform financial analysis and cost justifications
