We are seeking a full time contract professional with hands-on AWS DevOps Architect/Engineer who is passionate about building and optimizing cloud solutions. In this role, you will apply your DevOps savvy to architect, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and automation frameworks to support mission-critical systems, with a special focus on integrating with Esri GIS tools.
This is a collaborative and highly visible role where strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and teamwork will make an immediate impact. While remote work is the norm, occasional in-person meetings may be required. Candidates must be based in the U.S. and authorized to work for any employer without sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using best practices.

Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Support and integrate Esri GIS tools within cloud environments.

Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency.

Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security across environments.

Collaborate with distributed teams to deliver solutions on time and within scope.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.

Document architectures, processes, and best practices for ongoing improvement.
Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience in AWS DevOps environments (3+ years preferred).

Strong expertise in Terraform for IaC.

Familiarity with Esri GIS tools and integration within cloud environments.

Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodePipeline, etc.).

Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud automation principles.

Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate in a remote team.

Must be based in the U.S. with valid work authorization (no sponsorship).
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Exposure to monitoring tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, etc.).

Prior experience supporting geospatial applications or GIS systems.
