Solder Technician
Location: Vista, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm
Pay: $21/hr.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solder Technician to support the assembly of cable and wire harness products. The ideal candidate will have strong hand-soldering skills, experience working with cables, wires, and connectors, and the ability to interpret assembly drawings and wiring diagrams with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on production role that plays a key part in ensuring high-quality, reliable builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hand soldering of wires, terminals, connectors, and small electronic components.
- Crimp, strip, tin, and splice wires and cables using proper hand tools and equipment.
- Inspect solder joints and cable assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC workmanship standards.
- Follow production travelers, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and detailed assembly instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent soldering and cable/wire harness assembly experience.
- Proficient in hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, tweezers, soldering irons, and torque tools (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly documentation.
- Experience working under a microscope (preferred).
- IPC-610 or IPC-620 certification is a strong plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
