Job Description

Lencioni Construction Company
Assistant Project Manager (APM) — High-End Residential

Lencioni Construction Company is hiring an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support large-scale, high-end residential projects across the Peninsula (Atherton, Woodside, Palo Alto, Portola Valley, and nearby markets). This is a hands-on project coordination role focused on the “paper and systems” side of construction—meetings, Procore hygiene, bid coordination, schedules, and logistics—supporting multiple Project Managers across multiple jobs.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and thrives in a client-facing environment with architects, designers, and ultra-high-net-worth homeowners. This is a strong opportunity to deepen along a Project Management track and grow into a full PM role over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Support multiple Project Managers across multiple active projects
• Coordinate meeting agendas, minutes, follow-ups, and decision tracking
• Maintain Procore as a reliable source of truth (RFIs, submittals, drawings, logs)
• Assist with estimating, bid coordination, and proposal organization
• Support schedule updates and distribute three-week look-aheads
• Assist with project logistics, permits, and utility coordination (PG&E, jurisdictions, etc.)
• Support change orders, client billing assistance, and closeout documentation
• Maintain a steady, professional presence in client- and architect-facing settings
• Build strong working relationships with PMs, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams

Hard Skills

• Strong working knowledge of Procore (plans, RFIs, submittals; ideally punch lists)
• Competent with spreadsheets for bid tracking and light bid leveling
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project (or similar CPM scheduling tools)
• Comfortable supporting estimating and budgeting workflows (RFQs/RFPs, bid tracking, organizing proposals)
• Strong written communication (client-ready meeting minutes, emails, and documentation)

Soft Skills

• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Calm, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure
• Strong follow-through — tracks tasks to completion without letting things die between parties
• Collaborative, low-ego team player comfortable supporting multiple PMs
• High emotional intelligence and client-service mindset
• Curious, growth-minded, and interested in progressing toward greater ownership over time

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in construction project support roles (APM, Project Engineer, or similar)
• High-end custom residential experience strongly preferred (or similar complexity)
• Experience working with architects, designers, and demanding homeowner/client reps is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (not required with strong experience)
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for jobsite travel across the Peninsula

Benefits

• Competitive overall compensation package
• Benefits consistent with a high-end Bay Area builder (healthcare, retirement, PTO, etc. shared early in process)

Compensation

• Base salary range: $130,000–$160,000, depending on experience and fit

Location

San Carlos, CA (office-based)
• Projects primarily across the mid-to-upper Peninsula
• Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional early/late meetings based on project needs)
• Mix of office, jobsite trailers, and active construction sites
• Regional travel only (no overnight travel expected)
Remote work is not a fit for this role
