Job Description
CoFlo is a startup spinning out device technology developed at MIT to enable low-cost, patient-first administration of lifesaving drugs. Our device platform dramatically (>100x) improves the delivery of high-viscosity biologics and other challenging formulations—expanding access, improving outcomes, and transforming the patient experience.
We're looking for a highly motivated engineer to join as an early hire and help bring this platform to life. You’ll work across the full product development lifecycle—from concept to clinical readiness. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes ownership, and wants to help shape a high-impact product from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical design of novel drug delivery devices
- Rapid prototyping, building, and testing of prototypes
- Develop and refine parts and assemblies for manufacturability (DFM)
- Coordinate with vendors for scale-up and manufacturing
- Design processes and tooling for pilot and low-volume production and beyond
- Perform FMEAs and support broader risk analysis
- Contribute to regulatory documentation and design history files
Qualifications
- Past experience working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment
- B.S. or higher in a related field (MechE, BioE, etc.)
- Strong background in mechanical design and fluid dynamics
- Proficiency in rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, machining, etc.)
- Bonus (not required): experience in medical device development process
