School Occupational Therapist | Riverside, California
Job Description
Job Description
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time occupational therapy position is available within a K-12 school district located in Riverside, CA. This contract role spans the current school year, offering a dynamic and hands-on opportunity for an OT professional experienced in school-based services and working with students who have mild to severe multiple disabilities.
Key responsibilities include providing occupational therapy services to students aged 3 to 22 years, with proficiency in administering standardized assessments such as the BOT-3 and Peabody. The role requires an itinerant approach, traveling to multiple sites (seven locations weekly) within the district. While mileage cannot be billed, the position allows flexibility for the therapist to develop their own schedule based on district needs. The caseload is variable with no capped number of students and involves conducting assessments, consultations, and ongoing therapy services independently, often without additional OTs on site.
Qualified candidates should possess school-based or extensive clinical experience, specifically working with children with multiple disabilities. Strong analytical skills are necessary to effectively use assessment data in supporting service recommendations and addressing parent concerns. The work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with school-based or clinical experience
- Skilled in administering BOT-3 and Peabody assessments
- Experience working with students with mild to severe multiple disabilities
- Ability to manage a fluctuating caseload and work independently
- Strong communication and data-driven decision-making abilities
- Willingness to travel between multiple district sites within Riverside, CA
This opportunity offers a rewarding environment to impact students educational outcomes through dedicated occupational therapy. If you meet the qualifications and are interested in this contract position, please submit your application promptly for consideration.
