We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for various projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic environment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:

  • Support design engineers in component selection for new products.
  • Generate new internal part numbers using the PLM system and ensure new components are not duplicates in the component library.
  • Manage the electronic component supply chain lifecycle (Obsolescence, EOL, LTB, PCNs, etc.).
  • Creating modular product configurations per customer requirements.
  • Electrical design of FPGA, board, and system-level hardware. Support PWB layout activities.
  • Support board and component-level failure investigations (support the Failure Review Board (FRB)).
  • Develop relationships with component suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Identify component cost savings opportunities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The applicant MUST have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Component Engineering and electronic product design.
  • Knowledgeable of Industrial, space-qualified, and radiation-tolerant components.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electronic component parameters and data sheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using electronic computer-aided design software libraries (e.g., Altium, PADS, etc.).
  • Experience using data intelligence tools to perform component risk analysis, manage part obsolescence, monitor PCN alerts, and verify BOM health (SiliconExpert, Altium, Z2Data, etc.).
  • Experience in the design of embedded microprocessor systems.
  • Schematic capture experience.
  • Experience in debugging electronic hardware and embedded software.
  • Proficient in using PLM software (Empower, Agile, etc.).
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with interdepartmental teams, including design engineering, purchasing, and operations.
  • Strong interpersonal communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Additional Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in the design and development of precise time and frequency reference systems.
  • FPGA design experience using a hardware description language.
  • Experience developing ATE and test software using LabView and/or Python.
  • Network design experience including Ethernet and Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of component failures.
  • Reliability engineering (stress analysis, MTBF calculations, FMEA/FMECA).
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of component failures.
