Job Description

We're ALTEN Technology USA, an engineering company helping clients bring groundbreaking ideas to life—from advancing space exploration and life-saving medical devices to building autonomous electric vehicles. With 3,000+ experts across North America, we partner with leading companies in aerospace, medical devices, robotics, automotive, commercial vehicles, EVs, rail, and more.

As part of the global ALTEN Group—57,000+ engineers in 30 countries—we deliver across the entire product development cycle, from consulting to full project outsourcing.

When you join ALTEN Technology USA, you'll collaborate on some of the world's toughest engineering challenges, supported by mentorship, career growth opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

We are seeking a Test Engineer to design and deliver test solutions that support the manufacturing of advanced electronic platforms used in next-generation autonomous systems. This position involves creating and deploying tests for high-performance components such as custom PCIe devices, networking hardware, and PC-based subsystems.

You will work closely with electrical and software engineering teams to validate new designs and ensure smooth product integration. The ideal candidate is technically curious, adaptable, and eager to take on emerging technologies. Strong organizational skills and the ability to operate independently under tight deadlines are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, release, and maintain test solutions to support early hardware bring-up and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure test coverage and processes are in place for all production phases (PCBA, module, system, and vehicle-level).
  • Contribute to prototype validation and troubleshooting activities.
  • Establish best practices and drive improvements in test execution, runtime efficiency, and yield performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 6–8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting complex software and hardware systems.
  • Background in manufacturing test for electronic assemblies; experience in NPI (new product introduction) testing and validation strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Git knowledge (workflows, branching/merging, conflict resolution, history manipulation).
  • Strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting (bash); C++ experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments, with the ability to diagnose issues using command-line tools (e.g., lshw, ssh).

Salary Range: $120,000-125,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
