Summary
Our client, a well-established General Contractor in the commercial construction sector, is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in San Diego. This role plays a key part in driving the successful delivery of projects by supporting planning, coordination, and execution across all phases. The Project Engineer will collaborate with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, architects, and owners to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities

Support superintendents and project managers in analyzing and resolving field construction issues.

Review, prepare, and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents.

Solicit, evaluate, and qualify subcontractor bids and proposals.

Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and budgets.

Monitor project progress, identify issues, and support timely resolutions.

Support change order management, cost control, and project reporting.

Oversee project closeout, including collection of warranties and final documentation.

Ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and company standards.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment on all job sites.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.

14 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project required.

Familiarity with BIM/Revit and LEED Accreditation is a plus.

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
