Starting Pay: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience

Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and highly organized Medical Billing Specialist who is experienced and skilled at collecting medical claims from insurance companies. The ideal candidate will not only manage billing and collections for Neurovative and ANS but also have the potential to grow to supervising a team of four billing and administrative staff. A key part of this position will include posting payments to our electronic portal. We expect the candidate to have at least 5 years of experience in medical billing, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to revenue cycle management.
This is a full-time position but we will consider part-time options for candidates with the right experience and work situation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the Accounts Receivable aging report to ensure timely collections
- Identify and resolve billing errors, claim denials, and underpayments
- Prepare and analyze monthly billing reports and financial summaries
- Communicate with insurance companies to expedite claims resolution
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant billing regulations
- Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to support revenue cycle goals
- Conduct regular staff training
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in medical billing, including supervisory or team lead experience
- In-depth knowledge of insurance guidelines (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Proven track record managing Accounts Receivable and improving collection rates
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, bachelor's degree, or medical billing certification preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with billing for Neurology and/or Diagnostic testing procedures
- Experience with credentialing and payer enrollment processes
- Experience with AdvancedMD billing software
- Ability to generate and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing
