CNC Turning Specialist (Live Tooling & 3‑Axis Milling)
Job Description
Job DescriptionDay in the life
It’s 2:30 PM in Brea, CA. You walk into a tight-knit, 35-person shop that’s been designing and building precision engines for industrial, agricultural, and military use since 1937. You’ll split your time between a live-tool CNC lathe and a 3‑axis VMC, moving from setup to first-article inspection on small batches—often just 1–5 pieces—where tight tolerances and craftsmanship define the work.
With 13 CNC machines on the floor (and more on the way), everything from design to manufacturing happens in-house. Your skill keeps production nimble in a high-mix, low-volume environment where every part matters.
What you’ll handle
- Set up CNC lathes (live tooling) and 3‑axis mills for short-run jobs
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Read and work with G-code
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) to verify conformance
- Pitch in with other shop tasks as needed
What you bring
- 3+ years setting up and operating CNC lathes with live tooling and/or 3‑axis mills (experience with 5‑axis milling is a plus)
- Solid G-code knowledge
- Proficiency with GD&T and production run setups
Tools & tech you’ll run
- CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)
- CNC Lathe (2–4 axis)
Schedule
- Standard hours: starting at 2:30 PM
- Options for overtime
Benefits
- Paid Time Off & Holidays
- Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance
- 401(k) Retirement Plan
- Company-sponsored events and team gatherings
