PathPoint is seeking a Bilingual part-time Pre-Service Trainer. The Pre-Service Trainer provides trauma-informed training to individuals preparing to become certified foster parents (Resource Families). Using an established pre-service curriculum, the Trainer facilitates interactive classes primarily through PowerPoint presentations, incorporating professional anecdotes to bring key concepts to life. This role works closely with Peer Mentors to co-facilitate sessions, share lived experience, and support participants throughout the training process. The Trainer is responsible for reviewing training guides, auditing classes for consistency and quality, and building familiarity with participants to monitor engagement and emotional responses. They play a key role in identifying red flags, recommending curriculum updates, and contributing to a supportive, safe learning environment. Additional duties include attending team meetings, participating in curriculum review discussions, and assisting with 1:1 mentoring assignments and onsite class coordination as needed.
This is a part-time position with a minimum of 9-12 hours per week. Working out of our Ventura Clinical Office/Online. Hours are Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-9pm, Saturdays 8:30am-12pm - additional hours will vary.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Psychology or a related field is required.
- Twelve months experience with children and families within the child welfare environment.
- Instructors shall be knowledgeable and trained on child welfare practices, Safety Organized Practice, experienced in trauma informed behaviors, California Child Welfare Core Practice Model, Quality Parenting Initiative, and RFA Written Directives.
- DEI knowledge and teaching style, detail oriented with a passion to help children in care and their families.
- Be open to taking on 1:1 assignments.
- Bilingual English/Spanish-with the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish.
- Must receive a criminal record clearance through the DOJ and pass pre-employment health and TB screenings
