Job Title: IP Litigation Associate (3–4 Years)

Location: Northern California

Compensation: Competitive base salary + full benefits $200,000-$260,000

About the Opportunity
Our client, a top-tier law firm with a nationally recognized intellectual property litigation practice, is seeking a highly skilled IP Litigation Associate to join their growing Northern California team. The practice handles high-profile patent, trade secrets, and commercial disputes in industries such as high technology, software, digital media, and semiconductors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in patent and trade secrets disputes from case inception through trial.

  • Prepare and argue motions, take/defend depositions, and manage discovery.

  • Contribute to inter partes review (IPR) petitions and proceedings before the USPTO.

  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and clients on case strategy.

  • Draft and review pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of IP litigation experience, with a focus on patent and trade secrets matters.

  • Experience with inter partes review petitions highly desirable.

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science strongly preferred.

  • Outstanding academic credentials and prior experience at a reputable law firm.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Relevant bar admission required (or eligibility to obtain promptly).

  • Admission to practice before the USPTO preferred.
