Job DescriptionSummary of Job Purpose

The rental shop associate is responsible for assisting all Dodge Ridge guest with their rental equipment. This is an entry level position requiring a basic understanding of skiing and snowboarding equipment. This position requires a willingness to learn about the aspects of skiing and snowboarding equipment and an appreciation for the winter sports. Rental Shop staff is responsible for creating a well organized and efficient equipment rental process for our guests. This position requires constant interaction with guests that may have varying levels of knowledge of the sport and will require different levels of attention.

Examples of Duties

  • Greets customers promptly and determines needs quickly
  • Identify proper equipment sizing to maximize the Guest’s experience and builds customer confidence
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of product benefits and features
  • Demonstrates product uses and operation
  • Answers questions about equipment, products, and services at the resort
  • Maintains a clean work environment in all areas of the rental shop and collaborates with other team members to keep the rental shop organized at all times
  • Assists with opening and closing cleaning duties
  • Assist with outdoor and indoor ski check
  • Assist with outdoor mountain host duties
  • Remove snow, snow shoveling and deicing walkways
  • Attend weekly safety meetings
  • Adhere to posted weekly work schedule and be prepared to begin work at scheduled time

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snow packed, and icy road surfaces.

Work Schedule

  • This is a season position
  • In-season work scheduling is dynamic and dependent upon business levels
  • Typical work schedule start time is 7:30AM Saturdays, 8AM Sunday- Friday
  • Scheduled work day hours vary from 2 hours to 10 hours dependent on business levels

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Work is typically performed indoors working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members and it can be noisy. At times, you may be expected to work outside were it can be cold, wet, or humid. There is also the possibility of working around moving objects and occasionally may be required to assist with snow removal using a snow shovel

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

Items You Must Provide:

-Winter Gloves

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
