About the Role
Our client, a leading firm in the construction industry, is seeking a Senior Estimator to manage and oversee the end-to-end estimating process across a variety of project types. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and strong attention to detail. The Senior Estimator plays a critical role in ensuring competitive and accurate bids that drive revenue and project success.
Key Responsibilities

Lead bid preparation for a full range of projects (e.g., sub, prime, design-build)

Review and verify bids from team members for accuracy and completeness

Interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and project scopes

Identify and resolve discrepancies in formulas, quantities, and pricing
-
Evaluate risk factors and establish bid thresholds and strategies
-
Plan bid schedules and ensure completion of internal reviews one day in advance
-
Train and mentor junior estimating staff and schedulers
-
Support business development efforts by collaborating on scope and pricing discussions

Conduct pre-construction meetings with project teams
-
Maintain updated knowledge of vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
-
Utilize estimating software (e.g., MEP, On-Screen Takeoff) and Microsoft Office tools
-
Apply unit conversions, production rates, and mathematical formulas accurately
-
Customize and scale digital drawings for takeoffs
-
Ensure quality and compliance with all internal estimating standards

Deliver 2-3 bids weekly totaling $100K-$200K in potential revenue

Promote value engineering and cost optimization throughout the estimating process

Maintain a high level of professionalism when coordinating with internal teams and clients

Qualifications

Associate's degree (preferred)

Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction, landscaping, and/or hardscape estimating

Proficient in relevant software and digital takeoff tools

Strong understanding of construction methods, pricing, and vendor/supplier relations
-
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus (not required)

Willingness to travel locally to client sites and meetings
-
Must pass a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire
