A well-established civil litigation practice is seeking a full-time Litigation Secretary with a strong background in insurance defense and medical malpractice. This position requires a highly organized, detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can provide reliable support to busy attorneys handling complex matters.
Experience Requirements
Candidates must have 2 to 6 years of recent civil litigation experience, with a preference for those familiar with insurance defense or medical malpractice work. A successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proficiency in Word, WordPerfect, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to type a minimum of 70 wpm with accuracy
- Experience with heavy transcription, phones, scheduling depositions, hearings, and meetings
- Strong communication skills, including professional phone etiquette and clear written correspondence
- Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time-management abilities
- Advanced calendaring skills, including knowledge of state and federal court deadlines, procedures, and e-filing
- Hands-on experience preparing and filing motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment, and all other civil litigation pleadings
- A motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented work style
- Ability to remain productive and composed in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

Compensation
