Job Description

Summary
A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support complex ground-up, commercial, and multifamily construction projects across Southern California. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, organization, and collaboration—working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to keep jobs moving efficiently, on budget, and on schedule.

If you're ready to take ownership of project documentation, coordination, and field support—and grow into future leadership roles like APM or PM—we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the PM and Superintendent with day-to-day project administration and coordination
• Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings—ensuring timely reviews and approvals
• Track change orders, assist in scope reviews, and maintain updated drawing logs
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure material deliveries and schedule alignment
• Maintain project documentation in Procore (or similar software), including daily reports, meeting minutes, and logs
• Help review and interpret drawings, specifications, and scope documentation
• Participate in jobsite meetings, safety walks, and quality control inspections
• Assist with project punch lists, closeout documents, and handover packages
• Collaborate with estimating and scheduling teams to support ongoing project needs
• Serve as a point of communication between office and field for engineering and logistical support

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial and/or multifamily construction, including ground-up or large-scale TI projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, sequencing, and materials
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and basic scheduling software
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced jobsite environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
• Desire to grow into leadership roles (APM, PM) within the company

Compensation + Benefits

• Competitive base salary depending on experience
• Performance-based bonuses
• Medical, dental, and vision coverage
• 401(k) with company match
• Paid holidays, PTO, and sick time
• Company laptop, phone allowance
• Ongoing training and development
• Long-term career path with internal promotion opportunities
