Opportunity to join a leading organization focused on high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Application Development Manager experienced in extending custom off the shelf (COTS) applications as well as building and supporting custom applications. This role will report to the Director of Applications Development and Innovation Architecture and will be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead application development and support efforts for COTS based applications including ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Nintex K2.
• Lead application development and support efforts in the adoption and deployment of custom low code applications built on the Mendix platform.
• Lead Program Management activities for Mendix Adoption and Operations.
• Lead the development of highly scalable, hybrid on-prem and multi-cloud native applications.
• Drive the creation of solutions and technology roadmaps with a heavy focus on loosely coupled application architectures employing extensive use of API's, API management, and microservice architectures.
• Provide leadership and coaching in agile scrum software development methodologies.

Job Qualifications

• Must be a US Person.
• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field and thirteen or more years of progressive applications experience with at least seven of those years in a management role. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
• Experience spanning application development and solution architecture.
• Strong understanding of agile principles and software development methodologies,
• Solid understanding of Cloud technologies and offerings such as AWS or Azure with at least expertise and/or certification in one while having an aptitude and appetite to learn others.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs that facilitate a superior UX and simplify systems integration.
• Proven experience leading product evaluations and proof of concept development initiatives.
• Persuasive communicator – able to explain complex or intangible concepts to stakeholders at all levels
• Experience gaining consensus among a large, diverse group of stakeholders
• Experience managing, training and mentoring others in software development.
• Handles constructive criticism with ease; adapts easily and efficiently to change
• Strong ability to work with both business and technology stakeholders.
• Confident, articulate, and professional oral and written communication skills
• Experience delivering presentations to technical audiences and senior-level executives.
• Strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Analytical - solves problems at root cause and prioritizes effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Federal government and defense experience.
• Experience with managing ServiceNow and SharePoint development teams.
• Experience with Low code / rapid application development technologies and platforms.
• Experience designing, delivering, and supporting manufacturing solutions.
• Implementation experience with emerging technologies - such as GenAI.
