About the Role:
The Delivery & Installation Project Leader at Align Furniture Services (AFS), a CRI business, is a pivotal role that oversees the seamless execution of installation projects from start to finish. This individual is the cornerstone of on-site coordination, acting as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring all aspects of the installation align with the project’s scope and client’s vision. With a focus on leadership, the Delivery & Installation Project Leader manages the crew with precision, addresses any on-site challenges proactively, and ensures that every project detail is executed to the highest standard. This role demands a blend of technical knowledge, project management acumen, and exceptional communication skills, making it ideal for a proactive leader dedicated to delivering excellence in every installation endeavor.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison for both AFS and client teams on job sites, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Lead and organize the crew on-site to optimize project completion, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Adhere to installation plans and job scopes as outlined in work orders, maintaining the integrity of the project’s vision.
- Draft change orders for any additional work performed beyond the original scope, ensuring all parties are informed of adjustments.
- Report any damages or issues promptly to AFS and client teams, providing comprehensive details, including line item, quantity, part information, location, and photos.
- Collaborate with the AFS team to proactively address project challenges and resolve outstanding issues, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Send daily updates via email to AFS and client teams for all deliveries, pick-ups, and ongoing projects, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and maintaining a visual record of the project.
- Monitor project goal hours, keeping the project on track and within the allocated time frame.
- Secure client signatures on work orders and change orders, validating the completion and approval of tasks.
- Note all pending items and issues on work order documentation, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
- Ensures the team adheres to the company’s time & labor policies and regulatory laws.
- Loads and unloads trucks with the AFS crewmembers daily, which includes carrying merchandise up and down stairs, contributing to the orderly inventory management of equipment and materials.
- Deliver recycling and refuse from project worksite and warehouse to local waste management.
- Mentor and train new field crew members, sharing knowledge and fostering carpentry skills such as cutting, drilling measuring and various installation procedures.
- Provides post installation cleaning which includes wiping down product, vacuuming, and tidying the general work area as pertaining to the project.
- Responsible for transporting installation products to and from worksites. Conducts pre & post-trip vehicle inspections, identifying damage received by AFS’ trucks. Must adhere to all state and local traffic laws as well as the Department of Transportation’s compliance requirements.
- Notifies the AFS Warehouse team of damaged and returned product from the project worksite, making sure to properly complete and attach the Incoming Product sheet.
Requirements:
Experience/Skills:
- A proven track record in project leadership, particularly in furniture installation or a related field.
- Experience in managing on-site crews and serving as the main point of contact for clients and internal teams.
- Familiarity with reading and following detailed installation plans and work orders.
- Competence in writing change orders and handling project scope adjustments.
- A history of successful project management, including organizing tasks and managing crew for optimal project completion.
- Experience in documenting and communicating any on-site damages or issues, and in tracking project hours and goals.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, AFS teams, and crew members.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and anticipating potential project challenges.
- Ability to mentor and train new crew members, fostering a skilled and knowledgeable team.
- Knowledgeable in product specifications to assist in creating accurate project quotes.
- Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing at least 75 pounds, demonstrating physical fitness for the role.
