Job Description

Mid-sized law firm seeking an experienced Evictions/Unlawful Detainer - Contract Attorney to manage a caseload in California and other Western states. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of unlawful detainer experience, as well as related experience representing landlords, tenants, creditors, and/or loan servicers.

The attorney will handle a variety of primarily residential unlawful detainer matters, including but not limited to issues involving rent control, complex tenancy disputes, contested matters, motions for summary judgment, discovery, motions in limine, trial briefs, and both bench and jury trials. Responsibilities also include working with a team of paralegals and support staff, monitoring workflow, and managing client relations.

The Firm will consider a JD candidate with eviction/unlawful detainer experience and/or a seasoned experienced paralegal in the evictions/unlawful detainer field.

Basic Requirements:

Active license to practice law in California (admission in other Western states is helpful but not required)
Minimum 5 years of unlawful detainer litigation experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to lead, prioritize, and effectively multitask
Experience managing a high-volume caseload
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience representing creditors
Experience with post-foreclosure evictions/unlawful detainers

$50- $75/hour for contract position. Contract or Associate Position will be considered.
