Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility in Ventura County is seeking a Staff Pharmacist for a contract assignment with the potential for temp-to-hire. This role offers two distinct options based on your expertise and interests:
- Option 1: Float between three pharmacy locations within the system, including the medical center pharmacy, St. Paula Hospital pharmacy, and the infusion center pharmacy.
- Option 2: Focus exclusively on the infusion center pharmacy, specializing in oncology medications.
The assignment is full-time, with shifts varying between 8 and 10 hours depending on the location. Expectations include working swing shifts, every other weekend, and some holidays. The start date is ASAP, with the contract lasting approximately 3 to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Evaluate prescriptions for proper dosage, interactions, and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory standards.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with valid credentials.
- Experience with oncology and chemotherapy medications is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner is a plus; training can be provided.
- PGY1 residency preferred but not required.
- Local candidates strongly preferred; however, travel candidates may be considered.
