Our organization is currently in search of a Director of Nursing (DON) to join the Health Center team at our esteemed community. The DON will operate under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and assessing nursing services to fulfill the comprehensive needs of our residents. This role ensures the smooth operation of the health facility in collaboration with various departments while adhering to state and federal regulations, all while delivering care aligned with our “Philosophy for Person-Directed Care.”
** Salary range: $135K-$160K (depending on experience) plus performance-based incentives. ** A $5,000 sign-on bonus is also available! **
Key responsibilities of the DON include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting daily rounds to monitor residents and confirm that staffing levels adequately address their needs;
- Ensuring that all essential nursing care is delivered within the Skilled Nursing environment;
- Engaging with residents, families, and staff to provide answers, guidance, and support;
- Overseeing admissions and discharges in the Health Center, coordinating with acute hospitals, assisted living, and independent living teams;
- Managing nursing and administrative staff, including scheduling, hiring, training, and performance evaluations; addressing team member concerns;
To thrive in this position, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Nursing Program (RN);
- A valid RN License in California;
- Current CPR certification;
- A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred, or a comparable mix of education, training, and relevant professional experience;
- A minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience in a related field;
- Strong clinical observation and assessment abilities;
- Competence in computer skills for documentation, electronic health records review, and team communication;
