The Dental Hygiene Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our hygiene department. This position is responsible for managing hygiene schedules, supporting patient education and communication, and collaborating closely with the hygiene and front office teams to promote optimal oral health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain an efficient hygiene schedule to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Confirm hygiene appointments and follow up with patients who are overdue for cleanings or periodontal maintenance.
  • Assist in managing recall and reactivation systems to ensure patient retention.
  • Communicate with patients regarding recommended hygiene treatment, benefits, and any out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits related to hygiene services and enter accurate information into the practice management system.
  • Collaborate with the dental hygienists and dentists to support clinical workflow and patient care goals.
  • Assist with front office duties including check-in, check-out, and answering phones as needed.
  • Maintain and track hygiene department KPIs (e.g., reappointment rate, no-show rate).
  • Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene and encourage treatment acceptance.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all patients.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a dental office; hygiene scheduling experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance.
  • Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Starting at $25.00 an hour DOE plus bonus
