JOB PURPOSE:
Estimator has the responsibility of analyzing proposals and requirements necessary in establishing cost estimates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents.
- Create and verify data using specifications and/or drawings.
- Gather, evaluate and analyze data using current and historical data to develop quotes and proposals.
- Work with engineering, purchasing and other related departments to include all cost components involved.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Interacts with purchasing and production to maintain accuracy of estimating data base.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, visiting suppliers and reading publications.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication .
- Knowledge of blueprints and technical specifications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years experience.
